About The Lyndon Center

The name The Lyndon Center derives from Mike’s parent’s names. CaroLYN and Frank DONald Grubbs. Both Carolyn and Frank were excellent, dedicated servants of Jesus Christ in the counseling arts. They were both educators who became Christ followers later in life. They dedicated the rest of their lives to lifelong learning and to help people be free, contented, and victorious followers of Jesus Christ. For more than ten years they were “Counselors in Charge,” serving at Agape Campground in central Pennsylvania where more than 50,000 Christians would gather together for one week each year. It was a “Woodstock” kind of camping experience with bands, artists, and teachers giving God glory. Thousands of people were set free from every struggle and difficulty one can think of; it was a truly wonderful ministry. They served tirelessly during these days. Being educators and members of a small church Frank and Carolyn developed 19 seminars ranging from marriage and parenting to addiction recovery that they offered to smaller churches from Upper New York State to Virginia and Connecticut to Ohio. Nearly every weekend they were on the road serving God’s people. Carolyn served for 14 years teaching and counseling people. Though she developed cancer, she continued counseling people up to two weeks before her “graduation” to be with Jesus. “I have triple insurance: Jesus can take me home, he can heal me through medicine, or he can remove the cancer. In any and every case I am his and he is mine.” This was her constant testimony for nearly five years as she waited to see what her beloved Jesus would do. During this time of chemotherapy Carolyn and Frank, at Carolyn’s request INCREASED their ministry! Carolyn claimed the verse Romans 8:11 And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit, who lives in you. She believed that God was “able to make her do what she could not do.” Frank was serving right alongside his wife, together they made a powerful team of Christ’s servants seeing much good fruit for their labor. On November 24, 1986 Carolyn graduated to be with her Jesus! People from six states came to say goodbye. Frank continued their fruitful ministry for another 27 years. He graduated to be with the Lord February 16, 2013. The Lyndon Center is a continuation of this rich ministry.
